Founded in 1998, Dangote Packaging Limited (DPL) is the Dangote Group’s dedicated packaging arm. With facilities at Obajana and other locations, DPL produces woven and laminated polypropylene sacks, jumbo bags, open market bags, and shopping bags, essential for internal use and external markets. Production began at 5 million bags/month and has since expanded significantly to meet domestic and commercial demand.
Following the launch of new state-of-the-art machinery in early 2025, DPL’s output has increased from 36 million to 52 million polypropylene bags per month, positioning it for export readiness across West, Central, and Southern Africa.
All bags are stitchless, feature automatic valve design, and use plastic fusion technology for superior strength
DPL holds itself to global manufacturing standards—equipment, training, and processes ensure high quality and consistency.
With its integration into the Dangote industrial portfolio (including cement and petrochemicals), DPL benefits from self-supplied raw materials (e.g., polypropylene feedstock) and a logistics backbone. As part of Dangote’s regional expansion strategy, DPL is now equipped to lead packaging exports across Africa.
